Changing Lives…
One Friendship at a Time
Joseph “Joey” Lappin passed away on October 28, 2022, just a few weeks shy of his 31st birthday.
To know Joey was to love him. Those who spent even a second with Joey know how much he means to his family and close friends.
Joey graduated from Hebron High School in Lewisville, TX, in June 2013. As he walked across the stage, he received a standing ovation from his teachers, classmates, family, and “Circle of Friends.”
While attending Hebron, Joey spent his time building relationships with peers through the “Circle of Friends” program. Joey’s parents - Joseph and Susan - and his sisters - Jennifer and Carly - made a promise to keep his memory alive by continuing to support the “Circle of Friends” program at Hebron High School. Please help us to continue to support this amazing organization.
Thank you so very much!

“Joey was always the light in the room, the party of the gathering, and the laughter of the conversation. Sometimes, we think we learn a lot from the millionaire, the CEO, the #1 author. Well, I learned more than I can express from Joey Lappin. His will to learn something new every day. His love and compassion. His motivation to keep waking up and conquering each day when life handed him difficulties from day 1…He touched so many people’s lives in ways that most of us will never be capable of. His legacy will live on forever, and we will see him again one day in Heaven.” | Nick Fitzgerald, Joey’s lifelong friend

Circle of Friends is a social and language skills program that provides valuable support to students with special needs.
Circle of Friends also provides support and strategies for educators to create opportunities for socially isolated students that reduce isolation and increase connection.
Our School Inclusion Program establishes friendships between students impacted by disability or adversity and their non-disabled peers as both interact meaningfully in the natural environment.
Circle of Friends students and their friends attend many fun activities during the school year; with the best event always being “The Grande Ball.”
We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our students!
